1. About AITrustPass™
AITrustPass™ provides TrustPass™, a voluntary responsible-AI assessment and verifiable credential service.
TrustPass™ is intended to provide a trust signal relating to responsible AI use, based on assessment responses, declared behaviour and applicable consistency or risk checks.
2. Acceptance of these terms
By purchasing or using the AITrustPass™ service, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
Our checkout process provides access to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Notice before payment.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not purchase, apply for or use a TrustPass™ credential.
3. The TrustPass™ assessment
TrustPass™ assessments are designed to evaluate responses relating to responsible AI use, awareness, transparency, data handling and accountability.
When completing an assessment, you agree to:
- provide responses that genuinely reflect your own practices and understanding;
- not deliberately provide false or misleading information;
- not manipulate or interfere with the assessment process;
- not impersonate another person when completing an assessment; and
- use any resulting Assessment Outcome or credential responsibly.
Assessment responses may be scored automatically using the rules applicable to the relevant TrustPass™ version.
4. TrustPass™ Assessment Outcomes and credentials
Completion of a TrustPass™ assessment may generate an Assessment Outcome showing your assessment score and applicable TrustPass™ outcome tier.
An Assessment Outcome is not an issued TrustPass™ credential and should not be represented as one.
A TrustPass™ credential may be issued following completion of the relevant assessment and the applicable review and issuance process. Payment or achievement of a particular assessment score does not by itself guarantee issuance.
Once issued, a TrustPass™ credential may include information such as the credential holder's name, credential status, TrustPass™ tier, issue date, version, Certificate ID and verification information.
The current status of an issued credential is determined by the AITrustPass™ Registry and should be checked using the official TrustPass™ verification service.
5. What TrustPass™ does not guarantee
A TrustPass™ credential is a trust signal. It is not a guarantee of a person's conduct, performance, competence, honesty, suitability or future behaviour.
TrustPass™ reflects the applicable assessment and issuance process at the relevant time. It should not be interpreted as continuous monitoring of a credential holder's AI use or behaviour unless expressly stated otherwise.
Organisations, employers, clients and other third parties remain responsible for carrying out any checks, assessments or due diligence appropriate to their circumstances.
TrustPass™ should not be treated as a substitute for professional, legal, regulatory, employment, security or compliance checks.
6. Verification
TrustPass™ credentials are designed to be independently verifiable through the official AITrustPass™ verification service.
Anyone relying on a TrustPass™ should use the official verification service or QR code to check its current Registry status.
Credential status may change after issuance, including where a credential is subsequently suspended or revoked. A saved, printed or previously downloaded certificate should therefore not be relied upon as evidence of current status without verification.
The verification service may display information associated with the credential, as described in our Privacy Notice.
7. Refusal, suspension and revocation
AITrustPass™ may, acting reasonably, refuse to issue, suspend or revoke a TrustPass™ credential where necessary to protect the integrity, security or reliability of the TrustPass™ system.
This may include circumstances involving:
- false or materially misleading assessment information;
- misuse or misrepresentation of a TrustPass™ credential or Assessment Outcome;
- attempted manipulation of the assessment, payment, Registry or verification process;
- unauthorised alteration, copying or fraudulent use of credential information;
- a technical or administrative error materially affecting a credential;
- a material breach of these Terms & Conditions; or
- other circumstances that reasonably call into question the integrity or validity of the credential.
Where reasonably practicable, AITrustPass™ may contact the credential holder to seek clarification before taking action.
Refusal, suspension or revocation does not automatically determine whether a refund is due. Any refund or other remedy will be considered in accordance with Section 9, the circumstances of the case and any applicable consumer law.
8. Fees and payment
The price applicable to a TrustPass™ purchase will be displayed before payment.
Unless clearly stated otherwise at the point of purchase, TrustPass™ is supplied as a one-time purchase and not a recurring subscription.
Each TrustPass™ purchase provides access to one TrustPass™ assessment and the applicable review and issuance process. Once that assessment access has been used, the same purchase cannot be used to start another assessment.
Payment provides access to the assessment and applicable review and issuance process. Payment does not guarantee that a TrustPass™ credential will be issued, nor does it guarantee a particular assessment score or outcome tier.
You are responsible for ensuring that information supplied during the purchase and assessment process is accurate, including providing the correct email address where required to link your payment to your assessment.
If a payment is unsuccessful, reversed, disputed or otherwise not validly completed, AITrustPass™ may withhold or suspend access to the associated TrustPass™ service where appropriate.
Payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider. AITrustPass™ does not directly store your complete payment-card details.
9. Cancellations and refunds
If you purchase TrustPass™ as a consumer, you may have cancellation and refund rights under applicable consumer law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
TrustPass™ is a service that may begin shortly after payment. By placing your order and agreeing to these Terms, you request that AITrustPass™ begins providing the TrustPass™ service immediately, including providing access to the assessment and beginning the associated assessment, processing and review services.
Where applicable law provides a cancellation period, your right to cancel may be affected once performance of the service has begun at your express request. If the service has been fully performed, your right to cancel may end where applicable law permits and where the requirements for ending that right have been satisfied.
If you cancel at a time when you retain a statutory right to cancel but AITrustPass™ has already begun providing the service at your request, we may be entitled, where permitted by applicable law, to deduct or charge an amount proportionate to the service already supplied.
You will not automatically be entitled to a refund simply because:
- you receive a lower assessment score or credential outcome than expected;
- a TrustPass™ credential is not issued following the applicable assessment and review process;
- you change your mind after the service has been fully performed and any applicable cancellation right has lawfully ended; or
- a credential is subsequently suspended or revoked because of misuse, materially misleading information, manipulation, fraud or a material breach of these Terms.
This does not affect any refund, repeat performance, price reduction or other remedy to which you are entitled under applicable law, including where the TrustPass™ service has not been supplied with reasonable care and skill, has not been supplied as described, or where another statutory remedy applies.
If AITrustPass™ is unable to provide the purchased TrustPass™ service because of an error or failure for which AITrustPass™ is responsible, we will provide an appropriate remedy, which may include correcting or repeating the service or providing a refund where required.
Refund and cancellation requests should be sent to contact@aitrustpass.com. Please include the email address used for the purchase and sufficient information for us to identify the transaction.
For customers outside the United Kingdom, any mandatory consumer rights that apply in your country or territory continue to apply and are not excluded by these Terms.
10. Acceptable use
You must not use AITrustPass™ or TrustPass™ to:
- mislead another person or organisation;
- falsely claim a credential or status that has not been issued to you;
- represent a pending Assessment Outcome as an issued TrustPass™;
- alter, forge, copy or manipulate credential or verification information for a misleading or fraudulent purpose;
- allow another person to complete an assessment on your behalf or complete an assessment on behalf of another person;
- transfer, sell or provide your assessment access to another person;
- interfere with or attempt to manipulate the assessment, payment, Registry, credential issuance or verification systems;
- attempt to circumvent the one-purchase, one-assessment controls;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems;
- use automated methods, scripts or other techniques to abuse or improperly interact with the service; or
- use AITrustPass™, TrustPass™ or any associated service for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.
AITrustPass™ may take reasonable steps to investigate suspected misuse and may restrict access to the service or refuse, suspend or revoke a TrustPass™ credential in accordance with Section 7 where appropriate.
11. Intellectual property
AITrustPass™, TrustPass™, associated names, logos, branding, website content, assessment materials, assessment questions, scoring frameworks, credential designs, certificate designs, verification materials and other original content and materials are protected by applicable intellectual property rights.
Unless expressly permitted by AITrustPass™ or by law, you must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, license, publish or commercially exploit these materials.
You must not reproduce, publish or distribute TrustPass™ assessment questions, scoring methods or other non-public assessment materials in a way that could compromise the integrity or security of the assessment process.
Holding or receiving a TrustPass™ credential does not transfer ownership of any AITrustPass™ or TrustPass™ intellectual property rights to you.
You may display and share a legitimately issued TrustPass™ credential, certificate, Certificate ID, QR code or verification reference for its intended purpose, including on professional profiles, websites, portfolios, applications or communications, provided that:
- the credential belongs to you or you are otherwise authorised to display it;
- it is not altered in a misleading way;
- its status, tier or validity is not misrepresented; and
- it is not presented in a way that suggests endorsement, accreditation, regulatory approval or any other status that TrustPass™ does not provide.
AITrustPass™ may provide specific badges, graphics or other materials for credential holders to use. Any such materials must be used in accordance with any instructions or conditions provided with them.
12. Availability of the service
We aim to keep the AITrustPass™ website, assessment, Registry, credential issuance and verification services available, secure and accurate, but uninterrupted or error-free availability cannot be guaranteed.
From time to time, parts of the service may be temporarily unavailable, delayed or restricted because of maintenance, updates, technical problems, third-party service interruptions, security concerns or other operational circumstances.
AITrustPass™ may temporarily suspend or restrict access to any part of the service where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, fraud prevention, technical, legal or operational reasons.
Where a temporary technical or administrative problem affects an assessment, payment confirmation, Assessment Outcome, credential, certificate or verification record, we may take reasonable steps to investigate and correct the affected record or service.
We are not responsible for interruptions caused solely by third-party systems or circumstances outside our reasonable control, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
Temporary unavailability or interruption does not affect any statutory rights or remedies you may have where AITrustPass™ fails to provide a purchased service as required by applicable law.
13. Changes to TrustPass™
The TrustPass™ framework may develop over time. AITrustPass™ may update assessment questions, scoring methods, assessment rules, credential tiers, review processes, credential designs, verification processes, security measures or other aspects of the TrustPass™ service.
Updates may result in new versions of the TrustPass™ framework. Where appropriate, an Assessment Outcome or credential will identify the version under which the assessment was completed or the credential was issued.
The introduction of a newer TrustPass™ version does not automatically invalidate, change or revoke a credential issued under an earlier version.
Changes to the TrustPass™ framework will not normally retrospectively alter the recorded assessment score or tier of an existing credential.
However, AITrustPass™ may correct or amend a record where reasonably necessary because of:
- an administrative or technical error;
- inaccurate or materially misleading information;
- an assessment, scoring or processing error;
- fraud, manipulation or misuse;
- a security or Registry integrity issue; or
- another legitimate reason affecting the accuracy or integrity of the credential.
Where a future TrustPass™ version requires an existing credential holder to complete a new assessment, renewal or other action to maintain a particular status, any applicable requirements, fees and timescales will be communicated separately.
14. Liability and statutory rights
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability, statutory right or remedy where doing so would be unlawful.
AITrustPass™ is responsible for providing the TrustPass™ service in accordance with applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes any rights you may have where the service is not provided with reasonable care and skill, is not provided as described, or where another statutory right or remedy applies.
TrustPass™ is a trust signal and not a guarantee of a credential holder's conduct, competence, honesty, suitability, performance or future behaviour.
Subject to applicable law, AITrustPass™ is not responsible for independent decisions or actions taken by employers, clients, organisations or other third parties because a person:
- holds a TrustPass™ credential;
- does not hold a TrustPass™ credential;
- receives a particular Assessment Outcome or credential tier;
- has a credential refused, suspended or revoked; or
- previously held a TrustPass™ credential.
Employers, clients, organisations and other third parties remain responsible for carrying out their own appropriate checks and making their own decisions about whether and how to rely on TrustPass™.
AITrustPass™ does not guarantee that a TrustPass™ credential will be accepted by any particular employer, organisation, platform, regulator, client or other third party.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
For consumers, nothing in these Terms affects mandatory consumer rights that apply under applicable law.
15. Privacy
AITrustPass™ processes personal information in connection with the TrustPass™ service in accordance with our Privacy Notice and applicable data protection law.
Our Privacy Notice explains, among other things:
- what personal information we collect;
- why and on what lawful bases we use it;
- automated assessment scoring;
- how the TrustPass™ Registry and public verification service operate;
- what information may be displayed when a TrustPass™ is verified;
- the third-party service providers we use;
- international processing and data retention;
- cookies and website technologies;
- how we protect personal information; and
- your data protection rights and how to exercise them.
By using TrustPass™, you acknowledge that you have been provided with access to our Privacy Notice. Where consent is legally required for a particular type of processing, we will obtain that consent separately where required.
The current Privacy Notice is available at: aitrustpass.com/privacy.
16. Third-party use of TrustPass™
Employers, clients, organisations, platforms and other third parties may use TrustPass™ as one source of information when considering a person's responsible AI practices.
A TrustPass™ credential is intended to provide a verifiable trust signal based on the applicable TrustPass™ assessment and issuance process. It should not be treated as proof of identity, a professional qualification, regulatory approval or a guarantee of the credential holder's conduct, competence, honesty, suitability or future behaviour.
Third parties considering a TrustPass™ should use the official AITrustPass™ verification service to check the credential's current Registry status before relying on it.
A copy, screenshot, downloaded certificate or other representation of a TrustPass™ should not be relied upon as evidence of current credential status without checking the official verification service.
AITrustPass™ does not control how independent third parties use TrustPass™ when making their own decisions and does not guarantee that a TrustPass™ credential will be recognised, accepted or given any particular weight by an employer, client, organisation, platform or other third party.
Third parties remain responsible for:
- deciding whether TrustPass™ is appropriate for their particular purpose;
- carrying out any additional checks or due diligence appropriate to their circumstances;
- complying with any laws or regulatory requirements that apply to their decisions; and
- making their own independent decisions rather than treating TrustPass™ as the sole basis for a decision where that would be inappropriate.
Nothing in this section gives a third party permission to alter, forge, misrepresent or misuse a TrustPass™ credential, Certificate ID, QR code, verification result or AITrustPass™ branding.
17. Governing law and international customers
These Terms & Conditions and any contractual relationship between you and AITrustPass™ are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer protection rights that apply to you under the laws of your country or territory and which cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted by contract.
If you are resident outside England and Wales, you may also have rights concerning where legal proceedings can be brought or disputes can be resolved under laws applicable to you. Nothing in these Terms is intended to restrict those rights where they cannot lawfully be restricted.
TrustPass™ may be purchased and used internationally. However, AITrustPass™ does not represent or guarantee that TrustPass™ constitutes a licence, accreditation, regulatory approval, professional qualification or legally recognised certification in any particular country or jurisdiction.
You are responsible for determining whether your use of TrustPass™ is appropriate for your circumstances and for complying with any laws, professional requirements or regulatory obligations that apply to you.
Where any provision of these Terms conflicts with a mandatory consumer protection that applies to you and cannot lawfully be excluded, the mandatory protection will apply to the extent of that conflict.
18. Changes to these Terms
AITrustPass™ may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time where reasonably necessary, including because of changes to:
- the TrustPass™ service or assessment framework;
- our technology, systems or service providers;
- payment, credential issuance or verification processes;
- security, fraud-prevention or Registry requirements;
- applicable laws, regulations or regulatory guidance; or
- our business or operational requirements.
The latest version of these Terms will be published on the AITrustPass™ website and will show the date on which it was last updated.
Changes will normally apply to purchases and use of the service from the date the updated Terms take effect.
Changes to these Terms will not retrospectively remove contractual or statutory rights that have already accrued in relation to an earlier purchase.
Where a material change significantly affects an existing TrustPass™ credential or an ongoing service, we may take reasonable steps to notify affected users where appropriate.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
19. Contact and complaints

We will aim to acknowledge and consider complaints fairly and respond within a reasonable period.
Where a complaint concerns an assessment result, credential decision, suspension or revocation, we may review relevant assessment, payment, Registry and credential records and may ask you for further information where reasonably necessary.
Where we identify an administrative or technical error affecting an Assessment Outcome, credential or Registry record, we may correct the error and take reasonable steps to notify you where appropriate.
Nothing in this complaints process affects any statutory rights or remedies available to you under applicable law.
